Try to google registry cleaners and youll find thousands of hits. There are just that many registry cleaners available out there. Registry cleaners are important for maintaining your computers performance. But with so many of them, which one do you choose to do the job for you? This is why I tried out one software to test if it works.

I decided to go with the registry cleaner by the name of Error Fix. I have read so many reviews about it but I felt that they were quite biased which is why I decided to try the product out to see if it really does do the things those blogs say it does.

I found out from its website that aside form the basic registry cleaning feature, Error fix has several other feature that one can use upon purchasing it. So, its not just a registry cleaner but a conflation of so many other computer maintenance softwares. The installation was a breeze. It didnt take me long to have it set up on my computer and running.

I decided to run the Error Fix to see if it can do something with my slowing pc. After the scanning, I was quite happy to find that there were a good number of errors that it detected and displayed. With a click of a button, the Error Fix was able to clean my entire registry.

What I think is surprisingly pleasant with the Error Fix is that it can produce back up of my system settings.

You can even choose to just create a back up of your registry if you find it too cumbersome to create a back up of the entire Windows system. Back ups are very important for when we need to revert to our old settings due to file corruptions.

Judging on the face value of the product, it has a put together interface that makes it pleasing to look at.

But the sophistication does not jeopardize the functionality and I still found it very easy to access the right buttons.

In business, it is very likely that times will come when there would be some form of trouble that would result in a loss of data by companies. A typical example is what happened during the September 11, attack on the world trade center where tons of documents were irretrievably lost. While some companies were smart enough to back some of their crucial data up, others basically lost everything.

Imagine a situation where you lose the contract form for a business contract that you really want to any form of mishap. That’s how bad it can get. Any smart business owner should know that while disasters may not be envisaged, it can happen.

Disasters do not necessarily have to be in the extremes such as floods, earthquakes and harsh weather conditions such as whirlwinds or cyclones, it could be just internal fires in the building or mistaken shredding important documents. As a result of the potential harm loss of data can cause, it is very worse to get a disaster recovery solution plan in place. This will ensure that even if all physical documents or data are lost, their soft copies can be retrieved from paces where they are stores.

To effectively plan a disaster recovery plan, certain steps need to be taken. These are:

1. Make an inventory of all potential risks: It is crucial for the IT department of a company to make a list of all potential causes of data losses and the possible solutions. Also included in this should be a list of risks that the company can afford to tale or data that may not harm the company very much of it is lost and those that it cannot with all the preventive measures and damage control measures. If the business is a small company just starting up, the best bet is to hire a team of IT experts to make a quick inventory and present the management with their conclusions.

2. Make a Rating for all of these potential dangers: This is very important in enabling a company decide what is important and what isn’t. A good example of this is a web hosting company with servers locate on site. An assessment of the effects of earthquake as against power outage is likely to show that the earthquake will be ranked fairly low compared to the power outage. So, the rating for each company would be customized to that company as each has its own unique needs and problems.

3.Develop the Disaster Recovery plan: This includes taking note of the time it would take for the recovery plan to be executed and the length of time a company can afford to remain out of reach before losing its customers. For example, a web hosting company that goes offline for just 24 hrs is likely to lose most of its clients to its competition.

4. Test Your Solution: After installing or putting the solutions in place, test the services. But ensure that your clients know about it so they don’t get worried.

Try to google registry cleaners and youll find thousands of sites. There are just that many registry cleaners available out there. Registry cleaners are important for maintaining your computers performance. But with so many of them, which one do you choose to do the job for you?

I was in need of one too and I decided to go for some random software that I can test.

This registry cleaner is the Error Fix software.

It has been in the market for a long time now, but I wanted to find out if it was as good as the other reviews said it would be. Sure, it claimed that it can fix every kind of problem there is but I wanted to find out for sure.

The Error Fix software has a couple of added features aside from the basic registry cleaning tasks. There are actually plenty of things that a person can do with the Error Fix software.

There are a number of things that the Error Fix can do for its users. But one thing that I noticed with it right away was the ease of the installation. I didnt get any problems through the entire set up which I think is pretty encouraging.

I decided to run the Error Fix to see if it can do something with my slowing pc. After the scanning, I was quite happy to find that there were a good number of errors that it detected and displayed.

It only took me a few clicks to finally have my registry all cleaned out. Im not sure if it was just me, but I could swear that my computer worked a bit faster after those few minutes of trying the software out.

But for those who gauge the efficiency of the program by the interface (of how it looks like), youll be happy with the put together, professional look of the Error Fix. The down side with sophistication is that it can be complicated for the user. But with the Error Fix, I didnt find any problem with that as the buttons were all very distinguishable.

by Harry Marks

The one important thing that you have to do to make sure that your computer works at its optimum is to have it go through maintenance tasks. There are a lot of tests and scans that you have to do routinely to make sure that your registry is in order.

This is something very similar to having a good antivirus program installed in your computer to detect those bugs right at the getgo. Why is it very important to maintain a good registry?

Its somewhat comparable to your antivirus program. You need to have virus scans every now and then because your computer is always at risk of bugs after you using the internet many times throughout the day.

In the other hand, your registry is an integral part of your computer that stored information regarding your computer.

These information are in the form of your system options, your attached hardware information and your used memory. You will have a perfect and error-free registry when you purchase your pc but it will start to get messed up day after day.

There are plenty of registry fixer programs out there available in the market. But for the purpose of explaining the common features of a program of that kind, well look to the Reg Clean as a model.

The very basic thing that the Reg Clean does is to scan your registry for any damaged files and then rid them out of your registry.

I talked about routine scanning earlier and the Reg Clean actually has a feature that will automatically start up once your hit button on your computer.

But the most convenient of the Reg Clean features is how it can create a back up file of your registry so that if you have to corrupted files that are important to the proper functioning of your computer, all you need is to restore your old settings.

Simple file recovery

by Sam Roberts

Simple file recovery

In case you have accidentally deleted files in your system, there is software that can help you recover those files. The program searches the computer’s memory for temporary file and even folders and documents that have been deleted recently. Some of the software can even perform deeper searches for lost files. Files recovered can be burnt into a CD. The software helps you preview the files, save or burn into a disk the ones you want to keep and even show you if the file is of poor quality, medium or good quality to help you make your decision.

Corrupted File Recovery

Software have been designed to recover, rebuild and repair corrupt word documents that have got corrupted due to error in the media where these .doc files have been stored due to virus attacks and power failure etc. If you get the following error messages “Unable to read word document” or “This file is not in a recognizable format” etc. You can recover these files using a simple software that repairs the corrupted word document. Currently software for this sort of file recovery has been made only for Windows Operating Systems.

File recovery or data recovery means the process of trying to salvage the data from corrupted hard disks which no longer can be accessed by normal methods. Often files have to be recovered from systems that have failed due to various reasons like hard disk failure, virus infection, and hard disk crash due to malware. Files are recovered from various formats like hard disks, CDs, RAID, and even memory sticks. Recovery of file systems is carried out due to some damage to the files that prevent them from being accessed in the normal operating systems.

Many times file recovery can be done by the end user of the system by copying the desired files to another disk. This is simple and can be done in case of CDs and DVDs that are scratched. I case of virus infection one can create a disk partition and move the important files into a different partition that is trouble free.

In cases of hard disk failure, recovery of files involve more technical expertise. Solutions are more complex involving hard disk recovery techniques using file recovery software and even hard disk replacement.

Trying to recover files is not a perfect solution since many times files are totally corrupted and data has been irretrievably lost. It is therefore smarter to prevent computer crashes and avoid tension. Back up your data frequently. This is the best thing to do if your computer is running slow. A slow running computer means that the operating system is getting damaged. So back up your data. Use good antivirus and anti spy ware programs to protect your system.

Remember that not all files can be recovered easily. More often than not we need to call in professionals to help retrieve files from the hard disk and this is expensive and time consuming. It is also not a cent percent surety. So prevention is better than cure.

The proliferation of massive picture, video, audio, and data files has necessitated the use of powerful online file servers. Today, file servers offer nearly unlimited storage capacity (though for a fee), eliminating the need for expensive, problematic FTP solutions. Furthermore, today’s servers provide top-notch data protection, utilizing military grade encryption programs and firewalls.

Incredible broadband speeds and improved security encryption have enabled a host of remote, online file servers that offer vital services for a relatively inexpensive price. These off-site servers can be accessed 24/7, allowing authorized personnel to access stored data via powerful search capabilities. Find what you protected faster and easier. Many file server services likewise offer continuous backups, allowing every change at the main server to be copied off-site instantaneously. This is the ultimate in data protection as most off-site servers only backup data during non-peak or off hours.

Safeguards also need to be in place that will allow a complete audit trail of file changes and send notification when changes are made to everyone involved. A professional file server should always offer a hierarchical folder grid that users have become accustomed to. Automatic file updating needs to be instantaneous so all progress on all files can be quickly accessed.

The cohesion of a company is no longer a matter of space. Employees can share data instantly. This level of synchronization is a must given the pervasive nature of the Internet. It is noteworthy that businesses that employ telecommuting employees or engage in extensive online collaborations should adequately protect all data received to their main servers. This allows outages to be compensated by off-site file servers.

Remote file servers, as their name implies, are located off-site and provide a powerful level of security with regards to backing up sensitive, vital data. With an adequate backup file server, a business that experiences a server crash or other calamity is only down for as long as it takes to replace the faulty or failed equipment. With this backup in place, it is very quick and easy to import the necessary information from the remote server and be back in business.

Most file sharing services are built around the peer-to-peer model. This enables peers to upload data, browse, and then download data. This enables users to collaborate, share and build massive amounts of information. File sharing software allows people to do just that: share files. Documents, pictures, and music — if you can load it to your computer, you can share it.

Peers are allowed to stay connected and access information regardless of sharing profiles. The etiquette of peer-to-peer networks is a 1:1 ratio between uploads and downloads. Indeed, access to files can be limited to users according to levels of membership, making it especially useful for companies with diversely located employees.

File sharing allows team managers to work with all their members, regardless of location, in a secure manner and from a central point. Setting permission allows you to better control who has access to what files. Not all users have access to all file folders so it is therefore possible to have one set of files for your team members and one of other people such as clients.

If you have many members working with the files this will make you business run much more efficiently as you will have access to all the information you need when it comes to your files. Any members who are involved in this project will be informed when changes are made. They will have the option of how often to be told about changes to files. When changes are made to a file it will still retain its original name although it will be a different version, this saves a lot of time, as you will be able to view the history of who made the changes and on what date they were made.

The advent of high speed internet connection and fast downloads means that there are now many different ways that people can share files across the internet. All shareable files are stored in a central and secure location that allows users to share information. Most file sharing software applications give users complete control over the security of their information. File sharing is not restricted to team and company networks.

In today’s world, most people own at least one computer at which they spend a great deal of personal and working time. By doing so, they are generating a lot of important data and using often expensive programs to perform various tasks. So what happens when the computer hard drive, the part of the computer that stores all this data and the programs, decides to “crash” or quit working? That can be very devastating to the computer owner when it happens, as you may have guessed already.

What precautions can a computer user take to avoid losing all of their important data and software in the off-chance that their system goes down? Computer professionals recommend that users regularly back up their data to an outside source. This can be to a portable digital device like a disk, a flash drive or a website designed specially for storing data securely. Likewise, software can be backed up as well and here are some suggestions on how to best go about doing this periodically.

Keep a spare hard-drive

Some computers, including laptops, come with removable hard drives that can be exchanged with other removable hard drives. This can be especially convenient when you have to travel away from your business computer and need to carry with you all of your computer contents. But this can also be very useful when you back up your computer software and other large files that will probably be too large for a simple disk file or flash drive. Using the default windows backup process that your computer came with, you can install backups onto the removable hard drive and then keep it in a safe place just in case you ever need to restore these files to your exiting or another computer.

Utilize a backup software

There are several reliable software products out there on the market that can make a copy of any software applications you are using on your computer, plus any files and store them securely on an outside and secure, web-based server. The software essentially makes a carbon copy of your entire hard drive that can be accessed if needed. This is less expensive than buying an actual backup hard drive as well. This type of software is often referred to as “PC Recovery” software. Be sure to review the different types available before settling on one that will work for you.

Company servers

If you are using a computer at your employers, chances are it is already connected to a central server. Any programs you download will also be copied to that server, including any files or work you process on your computer. In the case of a system crash, the IT administrators for your company can pull up your data and software and restore it to your new or repaired computer easily.

It is always a good idea to get in the habit of backing up your data and computer software on a regular basis. Use your windows operating system backup function to do this or follow the instructions set forth by your company IT department.

by Sam Merchantt

Hard disk recovery is a process of recovering data from damaged data storage devices when all normal ways of data access have dealt with unsuccessfully.

Almost all hard disk drives are bound to fail without exception. The ideal way to evade such scenarios is to have a solid back up system in place to backup important data on frequent basis. There are multiple options available for onsite or offsite data backup.

There could be number of signs that a failing disk drive might display due to physical damage to storage media or logical corruption to the file system or operating system stopping a user from accessing data.

If one is technically inclined and comfortable in dealing with the data storage devices, and sure about physical fitness of their data storage device, then they can download demo versions of Data Recovery software from http://www.diskdoctors.com/data-recovery.asp to determine whether the issue could be addressed using a recovery utility before spending money to purchase the software. If this helps, then go ahead and purchase the software license and complete the data recovery process. We seldom advocate this solution to most; as we have observed state of affairs getting out of hand while attempting DIY due to inexperience; and destroying any likelihood of future recovery attempts.

If your data is essential, then hunting for disk recovery professional help is a must. Taking your failed hard disk drives to a local computer store for data recovery compares asking a hospital nurse to perform brain surgery.

In this digital era of bits and bytes where data is life blood of almost all of the businesses, one must make right choices when faced with a data loss.
